How to Make Easy Homemade PURE Protein Soup - perfect for post ops!
Now that you have had Bariatric surgery, is everything too sweet for your taste?
Don't worry - it's common as GI surgery makes the taste buds go crazy! While all will eventually calm down, you'll often find savory protein soup more to your liking than a much too sweet chocolate shake. Protein protein protein will heal you and keep you satisfied. Try this easy recipe!
If you are tired of sweet protein options, Inspire PURE Unflavored Whey Protein Isolate will help you. Small amounts of liquid PURE sneak a little whey protein isolate into foods that do hold appeal or still taste good to you. Remember to use by the SPOONFUL and not the scoop full.
- Using a small pot on stovetop, heat 1/2 cup Amy's Tomato Bisque, Wolfgang Puck's Tomato Basil or Butternut, Progresso Lentil, all are excellent supermarket brands of canned soup (of course the best soup is homemade). IF you are in a full liquid stage, pulse your soup in the blender before heating to smooth out any vegetable pieces. This is important as smooth means smooth!
- While soup's on, place a half scoop of PURE into 2 tablespoons water in a small cup or glass, give a quick stir and leave undisturbed for 20 to 30 seconds to allow the protein to melt into a smooth liquid.
- Pour the soup into a bowl and stir the liquid PURE into the soup a teaspoon at a time.
TIPS: The amount you use depends on how much soup you use for your portion. Use to your taste so the liquid protein doesn't change the flavor or texture of your soup.
HOT TIP! Since bariatric taste buds are super sensitive, grate a little Parmesan cheese over your hot soup. Even the most sensitive tastes won't know the protein is there.
Your soup is super delicious and now full of protein to fuel your bariatric journey. Pure Unflavored is wonderful!
